Cancer Education and Support in the Classroom

Austin, TX      Health

LIVESTRONG means doing the best and the most for those affected by cancer, now. Our vision is that people living with cancer have everything they need throughout their cancer journey.

Children in classrooms all over the US are dealing with cancer right now, whether through their own diagnosis or that of a sibling, grandparent, parent, family member, friend or teacher. LIVESTRONG at School was developed in response to the growing need to offer K-12 school teachers tools and resources to talk about cancer in their classrooms in an age-appropriate, hopeful and empowering manner. This free curriculum not only educates students about the effects of cancer in their community, but it inspires them to take action in the fight against cancer.

In 2016, it is anticipated that the LIVESTRONG at School program will be downloaded by approximately 25,000 teachers, benefitting thousands of students and communities across the US.

This RoomFunding Project will help fund the LIVESTRONG at School program.

Why We Like This Project

Cancer is confusing for adults let alone for children. This program not only equips teachers to support their students, but it helps children in a very difficult time of their lives.
